It was like any other usual Torontonian winter day. Sitting up with my fellow coworkers at a Hospital Tim Horton coffee place, Timmies as we call it, we were enjoying our witty conversations sipping and savoring the hot Tim Horton coffee. I finished my coffee and excitedly wanting to know if I won anything in the roll up the rim play and guess what I did. I won a free coffee. My first win for the season. And the chat continued as how few never win and few were so lucky. As we were chatting an elderly Chinese couple occupied the table beside us and the next we saw was that the man spilled his coffee. We quickly grabbed tissues to clean up the spill and asked if he spilled anything on himself. It was then I noticed the man perhaps had a weak right arm, presumably from stoke and it seems this was new. The entire episode made him so uncomfortable. His body language stated he was so ashamed that he did that. He appeared totally embarrassed. We reassured him this was ok and things happen. At this point I handed over my winning cup to him. It wasn’t meant for me, I won it for him. I don’t know him, but I hope the stranger got to drink his Tim Hortons coffee.
