In April, 2010 I was visiting my daughter and her spouse awaiting the arrival of their baby. On April 13 I was present to see my granddaughter Ella Rae Burchell (Princess Ella as we call her) make her entrance into the world.
It had been a long day as we arrived at Northern Reflections Hospital in Fort McMurray, AB at 2 a.m. . Ella decided to have us wait until 11:54 p.m. to make her grand entrance into this world. Later, on my way home from the hospital for a much needed sleep we stopped for a Tim Horton's coffee. Well, a couple of sips and I was asleep for the remainder of the night.
When I awoke the next morning I poured my coffee down the drain and threw the cup in the garbage. About a half hour later I remembered that I had not checked my Roll Up The Rim to Win and headed for the garbage can. After checking my cup I was very surprised to find I had threw out a $100 Tim Horton's gift card winner. What a surprise that was and what a perfect ending to a perfect day. A gorgeous new granddaughter and a steady supply of "free" coffies for a while.
