So i left buffalo, New York in dec of 2006. i joined the United States Air Force. After my training was i done i got stationed in Tucson, AZ and it's where i remain today. Tucson is about as much the opposite of Buffalo as you could possibly get but that's another story. But every time i visit home i drink more timmy ho's coffee than is probably healthy and always bring a can or two back with me to Arizona. I don't ever run out because friends and family send me the essentials (timmy ho's coffee, franks hot sauce, loganberry mix, etc) quite often so i never run out. This past summer i deployed with the USAF to Kandahar in Afghanistan for a few months. When you work 12+ hours a day 7 days a week in a combat environment, coffee is up there with deodorant as one of the most important things. Thanks to the Canadians who also have operations based at Kandahar, there has been a Tim Hortons built on the base. It's an abbreviated version of what you're used to back in the states but it still carries the good stuff: Coffee, Donuts, Timbits, Ice Capps, bagels, Hot Chocolate, etc... The first day i was in country i bought a TimMug travel cup. EVERY SINGLE DAY on my way to work, i would stop by and grab a triple double to start the day. The line would be backed up for about 50 yards out the building most days. A rainbow of uniforms. US army, marines, air force, navy, DOD civilians, contractors, British, Canadian, Slovakian, Estonian, Aussie, Dutch, French,... (the list goes on) waiting for the worlds best cup of coffee. They made every day better and i thank them for supporting us who are out there fighting. A little slice of home in one of the most Un-Homey places on the planet. It's funny though. i get to go to a Timmy's about 2 weeks total a year. I guess its just easier to go to the other side of the world so i can have it every day. Thanks Tim Horton's. You made that place tolerable.
Much Love

I'm from up here in Canada but my son sends cans of Timmy's coffee to an American buddy of his who was sent from the Sierra Vista,AZ base to a forward operating base over there in the Kandahar region. His friend loves the stuff! We Canadians also appreciate the work you do for us! Thanks!
